The Inconfidência Museum is a historical and artistic museum, which occupies the former Town Hall and Jail of Vila Rica and three additional buildings in the city of Ouro Preto, in the state of Minas Gerais.

Opened on August 11, 1944, the museum is dedicated to preserving the memory of the Inconfidência Mineira and offers a significant panel of Minas Gerais society and culture during the period of the gold and diamond cycle in the 18th century, in addition to including works by Manuel da Costa Ataíde and Aleijadinho.


THE CHALLENGE
In the year in which the museum celebrates its 80th anniversary, it felt the need to update its visual identity, since the one used no longer conveyed the values and institutional mission of the museum.

THE SOLUTION
Here you can see the new visual identity of the museum, now modern and compatible with the purpose of becoming a more inclusive, diverse, artistic and cultural institution that represents the multiplicity of our history.

THE COLORS

Ocher is one of the most used colors during the Brazilian Baroque period and can be seen in several places when walking around Ouro Preto. Black seeks, as a counterpoint to ocher, to offer the same contrast found in baroque paintings.

THE TYPOGRAPHY

The typography seeks to be easier to read and show the museum's accessibility in its new phase, while at the same time connecting with IBRAM's visual identity.
